Canada & Beyond: Communities in Canada, 1780-1850 is designed and written for educators to meet the expectations of the Ontario social studies curriculum.  Students will learn, explore, discover, analyze, and communicate findings for a variety of topics. They will learn about diverse communities existing in Canada between 1780 and 1850. Students will explore what life was like for different groups of people during that time period and will compare the lives of these people to their own lives as present-day Canadians.  Students will use the inquiry process to explore and investigate how people in early Canada responded to the environment and challenges.
